When our friend Mar Sellars suggested that we meet with Shameem in Toronto, we didn’t know what to expect. The Australian was just in town to play in some clubs. Mar rave about her and we recorded her wonderful song ‘Beautiful Soul’ on the roof of a hostel right away. Shameem plays a lot of instruments, but the most impressive for us was her virtuoso singing which she just shakes out of her sleeve. In the same league as Alicia Keys.
