George Hiri is a singer and guitarist based on the Solomon Islands. Here we had bought our boat, the “Marianne” and spent another two weeks on the islands to make her seawater. We met George at a family party, where he sang beautiful songs together with the big family. We explained our project to him and he was immediately ready to let us take him in. A historic moment, because that was our first recording session abroad. George took the guitar from Hannes grandpa and started to play.
He was fantastic and that gave us great hope for our whole project. Unfortunately, the story didn’t make it into our movie ‘Blown Away’ – so there are some impressions in the video below.
