Ujjayinee is a great singer, composer and dancer from Chennai, India. She is also the voice in countless Bollywood movie songs. We had received her phone number from Nitin Dubey, with whom we had recorded some music shortly before in Mumbai. Ujjayinee immediately welcomed us into her house, where she lives with her German partner Ed de Genaro.
On the very first day we recorded with her the song ‘Kalighata‘ on the beach of Chennai, which in the course of our journey would become a powerful blend of Indian harmonies and Western beats.
It was a nice time with Ujjayinee and Ed in Chennai. We just felt comfortable and laughed, smoked and drank a lot. Thank you for that.
